Tournament Information

Paxton Park hosts several large tournaments each year in addition to numerous smaller events such as church, nonprofits or corporate outings. The 2026 dates for our larger events are scheduled below:

******************************************************************************

2026 James Marine/Bryant Law Center Greater Paducah Amateur 2-Player Team Championship was held June 20 & 21, 2026.

This event was changed in 2026.  We added an individual, flighted amateur division; as well as a senior amateur division (55+); as well as a ladies amateur division (none participated); a junior division (under 21) (only 2 participated); along with our traditional 2-player, 36 hole scramble format event, with closest to the pin prizes both days.  The tournament was flighted after completion of play and prizes will be in golf merchandise script (with a cash option).   Men under 55 played from the blue tees;  Men 55 and over played white tees;  Men 65 & over played red tees.   Ladies would have played from the red tees.  Tee times are assigned on a “first come – first serve” basis from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M.  Players may get their own teams and request their own foursome.  Leader groups were repaired on Sunday at the end of the line-up.

This event is open to any amateur golfer who desires to compete, regardless of his or her residency. This tournament is limited to the first 100 players.

We would like to thank our title sponsors James Marine and Bryant Law Center, and our event sponsor Pepsi MidAmerica, for their support of this event.  Their support is critical to the success of this event.

The 2026 Banterra Bank/Jim Smith Contracting Irvin Cobb Golf Championships will be a 54-hole event and will be held July 17th, 18th & 19th.  The amateur division of the 2026 event will also qualify for USGA World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) Points.

This event has an amateur division, a professional division, and a junior division (which also compete in the amateur division). It has a rich history with many alumni who have gone on to the PGA Tours. It is an event that is a testing ground for players who want to see how they “stack up” against some good competition.  We are excited to continue to see the tournament qualify for USGA WAGR points for amateurs!

SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS BANTERRA BANK, JIM SMITH CONTRACTING, THE WEALTH MANAGEMENT GROUP, PEPSI MIDAMERICA, ORR MEDICAL, NORTH YOGA, McDONALDS RESTAURANTS, WPSD-TV, CLARK DISTRIBUTING, LINWOOD CHRYSLER, BANKS MARKET, AAA AUTO GLASS, MAYOR GEORGE BRAY.

Tour Players Charity Golf Scramble To Benefit Paxton Park and Junior Golf featuring Russ Cochran, Kenny Perry and Emma Talley.  The event date will be Friday, September 25, 2026.

The Tour Players Charity Event To Benefit Paxton Park and Junior Golf was started in 2002 and has featured PGA and Champions Tour Professionals Russ Cochran, Kenny Perry, John Riegger, and LPGA Tour player Emma Talley.    This event was started to provide funds to help make necessary capital improvements to Paxton Park and all proceeds go into a special account which is used for that purpose, and beginning in 2007, a portion of the net proceeds also benefit Junior Golf, including local high school golf teams. It is a fun, 4 person scramble event that takes on the atmosphere of a reunion more than a golf tournament.

We are very appreciative of Russ Cochran, Kenny Perry, Freddie Sanders, Mark Page, and Emma Talley for their efforts each year on behalf of this event. They have busy schedules and the fact they continue to come back and help this facility each year is huge and we deeply appreciate their help. This year, Reed Cochran, PGA Tour Caddy for Eric Cole, was also present for the event.

Special thanks to the following sponsors of this event:  Jimmy Brown, Van Bryant, Steve Seltzer, Richard Fairhurst, Home Floor & Kitchens, and Paducah Service Company.
